§ 26-5. Procedure for awarding of franchise.

(a)

Within thirty (30) days after the due date for receipt of applications, the town shall schedule a public hearing for review and discussion of applications. All applicants shall be given an opportunity to participate and be represented at the hearing.

(b)

Within sixty (60) days following such hearing the mayor and council shall announce their decision with respect to such applications, which may include the awarding of a franchise, the rejection of any or all applications, or the rescheduling of a public hearing for consideration of additional information to be solicited from or form the basis for further negotiation with an applicant or applicants.
