§ 20-13. Failure to leave public building or grounds on request.

  • (a)

    During closed hours. It shall be unlawful for any person to refuse or fail to leave a public building, parking lot or grounds of the town, or a specific portion of a public building, parking lot or grounds of the town, during those hours of the day or night when the building, grounds or specific portion thereof has been closed to the public under proper authority, upon being requested to do so by a regularly employed police officer, guard, watchman or other authorized representative of the Town of Cheverly, if the circumstances are such as to indicate to a reasonable person that such person has no lawful business to pursue at such place.

    (b)

    During regular business hours. It shall be unlawful for any person to refuse or fail to leave a public building, parking lot or grounds, or a specific portion thereof, of the town, upon being requested to do so by an authorized representative of the town, if the circumstances are such as to indicate to a reasonable person that such person has no apparent lawful business to pursue at such place or is acting in a manner disruptive of and disturbing to the conduct of normal business by the town.
